Golden oldie

Got the gondola from the nevis ski resort up towards Aonach Mor. Cloudy conditions with frequent breaks and a cold but light easterly wind.

Walked over to the view point to traverse the hillside into the west face of Aonach Mor. Was the first ones up and across into the valley.

After a long traverse in good conditions and no wind me and Sam geared up on a rocky verge below the climb.

Sam, I met in the hut in Glencoe. We could only just identify the route due to low lying cloud. Another team started up on our route. We opted to head up the snow gully to the right and complete two mixed pitches of climbing to rejoin the route further round the crest in order to avoid the other team.

Completed the ‘Golden Oldie’ ridge to the summit of Aonach Mor. Topped out in a complete white out.

Took gear off and navigated off the flat summit. Another team behind us we helped off the hill too by navigating down.

A good, dry day with some breaks in the clouds and out of the wind until the top out. Bum slid all the way down next to the ski lifts!
